Further update on the Medway Insolvency Service

The Government has announced that the Insolvency Service will not relocate the Medway Office to Whitstable.

Concerns were raised last year during the consultation that the proposed move would have an impact on Gillingham and Rainham as well as the wider local area and could result in the loss of an important local service.

Rehman received a response from the Minister for Employment Relations and Consumer Affairs, Jo Swinson MP, stating that "the decision for Medway is not to relocate the Medway Office to Whitstable."

The Minister says that instead "The Service will work to identify and assess alternative government property options in Kent, preferably in the Medway or Maidstone area, for occupation from late 2013."
