Rehman has won a prestigious Grassroot Diplomat Award for his national campaign.
The organisation presented the MP with the Policy Driver Award at their ceremony on Wednesday (21 April 2016).
The awards recognise outstanding politicians and diplomats who are representing civilian interests at the highest level in areas of policy, social and business overall.
Rehman was shortlisted from over 100 politicians this year for the 4th Annual Grassroot Diplomat Initiative Award for his campaign to refer to the so called Islamic State as Daesh.
Last year, Rehman led a campaign which successfully convinced the Government to officially adopt the term Daesh when referring to this terrorist group. It was supported by 170 MPs from across the political spectrum.
Grassroot Diplomat works to build trust and strengthen relationships between governments and civil society.
