Rehman presented a petition to Parliament on Monday (8 June 2015) on protecting important local green spaces.
On behalf of residents in Gillingham and Rainham, and supported by local councillors, Mr Chishti presented a petition to protect Capstone Valley and the green areas around Otterham Quay Lane from development.
This was a key issue during the recent general and local election campaign and one raised with him by residents.
Rehman said:
"I said during the recent election campaign that I would continue to support residents in their fight to protect our important green areas from development, including Capstone Valley and land at and near Otterham Quay Lane, Rainham.
"The petition that I have presented to Parliament urges the Government to protect these much valued important green areas."
