Local MP welcomes Ultrafast Broadband to the constituency
On Friday 10th March, Gillingham and Rainham MP, Rehman Chishti, visited local family run business Temiz Book-Keeping Ltd, the first of twelve million homes and small businesses to benefit from a major expansion of ultrafast broadband by Openreach.
Commenting after the launch, Rehman said:
“It has been a great opportunity to visit this fantastic local business to see first-hand the real difference that ultrafast broadband will make in giving our excellent local businesses the opportunity to operate as competitively as they can, not to mention the benefit that this expansion will bring for residents at home. The first in twelve million homes and small businesses to receive this new technology, it is an exciting time for Temiz Book-Keeping Ltd, other small businesses and residents alike.”
One of the first areas to trial this new ultrafast broadband technology, Gillingham will see download speeds of up to 330Mbps – more than ten times the current national UK average.
