Rehman paid tribute to all the fantastic staff at Medway Maritime Hospital during his afternoon visit on Friday (3 October 2014).
Rehman met front line staff across the Hospital’s departments. He spoke to those working in A&E, Maternity Services and in the Patient Operative Care Unit and listened to their views on how the Hospital can be improved.
He also visited the Oliver Fisher Care Unit, which has previously been highlighted as an area of outstanding practice.
Rehman Chishti MP said:
"The staff at Medway Hospital do a fantastic job in often challenging circumstances. This visit was a great opportunity to speak and listen to those on the front line, who deal with patients on a daily basis.
"I particularly wanted to see those areas that have been highlighted as requiring improvement as well as those which have outstanding practices.
"I was impressed by the commitment of staff to improving our local Hospital and I look forward to working with them to make the necessary changes to turn the Hospital around."
