Rehman joined postal workers on Friday morning for their daily delivery round in Gillingham and Rainham.
After a tour of the Royal Mail’s Gillingham Delivery Office, where Rehman saw the mail sorting process and spoke to staff, he experienced firsthand the challenges of delivering mail to homes and businesses in the constituency.
In Gillingham and Rainham, the Royal Mail serves more than 42,000 addresses, delivering mail six days a week in all weathers, and there are 503 post boxes in the area.
Rehman commented:
"Visiting the Gillingham Delivery Office and joining one of the delivery rounds was a great opportunity to see firsthand the excellent service that Royal Mail and our postmen and women provide in the constituency. They have a tough job delivering mail in all weathers and are under pressure to complete the rounds in time. I really appreciate the important part they play in serving our local community."
