Rehman had a good meeting with the Secretary of State for Transport, Chris Grayling, at which he welcomed the funding announced for potholes and highway maintenance for Medway Council.
Following the Autumn Statement on 23rd November, it was announced that £1.3 billion in extra funding will be invested in UK roads during the period of this Parliament.
This includes £11.6 million allocated to fix or prevent South East of England potholes in 2017/2018, with £201,000 specifically allocated to Medway Unitary Authority for this.
In terms of the 2017-2018 Highways Maintenance Block allocation for Medway Unitary Authority, this totals £2.263m.
