Councillor Chambers has received an OBE for services to local government.
Rehman said: "I am delighted that Councillor Chambers has received this award. He has made a huge contribution to our community for over 30 years and it has been a pleasure to serve with him on Medway Council and on his Cabinet. Cllr Chambers is a great man who has served with dedication and distinction."
