Commenting on the success of Gillingham Football Club on Saturday (20 April 2013), Rehman said:
"Congratulations to the Gills. I am delighted that the Gillingham Football Club has become the League Two champions. As a long time supporter this, and their promotion to League One, is great news for the club and all of the fans and the community. They have done us proud. I will be asking the Council what can be done to celebrate this achievement in Medway."
