Rehman pressed the case against the Thames Estuary airport with the Airport Commission on Thursday (13 June 2013).
The Airport Commission, headed by Sir Howard Davies, is examining the case for additional UK airport capacity.
They visited Medway to discuss the impact such an airport would have on the local area.
Rehman said: “A Thames Estuary airport would be prohibitively expensive and there are many economic, environmental and safety issues that stake up against it, making other alternatives much more viable.
"I welcomed the opportunity to meet with Sir Howard Davies and members of the Airport Commission where I could personally give them the message from local residents that an airport is not wanted or needed in Medway."
