Britain’s leading Conservative grassroots website has named Rehman as the runner up in their Parliamentarian of the Year Awards.
Readers of the ConservativeHome blog voted the local MP in second place in their end of year poll.
They also praised Rehman for his “expert use of the Chamber as a campaigning platform” in his successful Daesh campaign.
Last year, Rehman Chishti successfully led a campaign to convince the Government to officially adopt the term Daesh when referring to the terrorist group, instead of ISIS, ISIL or Islamic State. This received the support of 170 Members of Parliament from across the political spectrum.
He previously won the Conservative Party People’s Choice MP of the Year Award from the Patchwork Foundation, sponsored by KPMG.
