Rehman joined pupils from schools across Kent and Medway for the Battle of the Bots competition on Saturday (20 October 2012).
The event, supported by Southern Water and the Historic Dockyard, encourages young people to build and design their own robots and compete against each other in a number of challenges.
Rehman presented awards to the winners of the competition, which saw Chatham Grammar School for Boys win the top title, followed by the Robert Napier School in a close second.
Rehman said:
“Battle of the Bots gave students from Kent and Medway the opportunity to showcase their engineering excellence and ingenuity. It was a great experience for young people to learn and engage with science and technology and I was extremely impressed with their innovative designs.”
