Rehman wrote the Home Secretary to raise concerns about the number of illegal Channel boat crossings that land in Kent. As a former member of the Home Affairs Select Committee and a Kent MP, Rehman stressed the importance of addressing this issue which endangers the lives of those who attempt the crossing and raise serious border security issues.
Rehman has been contacted by a number of constituents concerned about this matter and in light of recent media reports on the issue, asked the Home Secretary to provide him with an update on what the Government is doing to prevent this.
